Do you have plans to support the atmospheric in mental ray?

Do you have plans to support the atmospheric in mental ray?

I ask this because for people like me, that works with mental and iRay, the atmospheric effect working under scanline is good, but not enough, because if we have to extract the reflections of a krakatoa render with some effects like Depth of Field or Motion blur in our matte objects, we can’t do it with scanline.

Writing dedicated shaders for mental ray is a PITA. But since we are in the process of integrating Krakatoa with Maya and Maya also has mental ray shipping with it, I have argued that an mr Atmospheric shader would benefit all platforms. Somebody (a developer) would have to bite the bullet and do it. But he won’t enjoy the experience… :wink:
Right now there is no exact plan whether or when this might happen.
