Just a quick enquiry - I’m using prt mods to make some additional channels to go into frost elements which is working really nicely but it’s on a fluid element which is pretty nasty to render. Frost has free network rendering which is great but will the prt mods I’ve done require a krakatoa network render license for each node? Or do the krakatoa licenses only get called when you’re using krakatoa as your actual renderer?
All the non-rendering features that work in the Krakatoa Evaluation (license-free) version should work in network rendering mode. These include all PRT objects (PRT Loader, PRT Volume etc.), all Magma modifier features etc.
What does not work in network mode without a “krakatoa-render” license (the one shared between Krakatoa MX, MY and SR) is the renderer itself, the Krakatoa Atmospheric Effect, and the few advanced PFlow operators coming with Krakatoa MX - Krakatoa Geometry Lookup, Krakatoa Geometry Test and Krakatoa Collision.
In workstation mode, Krakatoa MX will render with a watermark if no “krakatoa-max” license is found and res. is above 480x360. In network mode, nothing will render unless a “krakatoa-render” license is found.
That being said, if you find a feature that does not work in network mode but should, please let us know!
