DoNotExceed option for UBL on a job?

Is it possible to set a Do Not Exceed limit on a job for usage based? It would be nice to be able to say “Don’t spend more than 2 hours on this job.”

Are you looking for a Task timeout that applied only when a Slave rendering a Task was using Usage Based Licensing? Currently, the Job and its Tasks are not aware of what licensing mode the Slave is using to render them. I’ll add this to the wishlist.

Not a task timeout but a job limit timeout so that after 100 hours of UBL slave usage it would turn off a UBL limit for that job.

That way you could say “Spend $40 to render this job faster” but automatically kill the UBL license tasks when you passed that limit and finish on the local farm. Just a way to budget UBL limits much like VMX budget controls. It would be great to submit a nuke render and have a fixed cap on how much you’re willing to spend on the job. If it renders too slowly over the weekend you won’t come back on monday to discover that you wasted $300 of render time on a bunch of frames that took 8 hours to render each that you thought would be done in 30 minutes.

The challenge with Usage Based costs is not being in a situation where you have to babysit everything burning money to avoid an accidental massive bill.
