Draft VideoEncoder() function problem

Hi.

We noticed the VideoEncoder fps flag seems to act irregularly. We have a bunch of quicktimes been encoded with Draft, all with the same Draft template, all using 30.0 as fps value, that resulted in 29.9963, 29.9972, 30.0, 30.22… when passed to RV, QuickTime, or analysed with ffmpeg.

We are using Draft Version: 0.11.0.47662.

Any idea?

Thanks
Maxime

Thank you for your report!

I was unable to reproduce this problem. Using Draft 0.11.0.47662, I created a .mov with fps=30. The resulting frame rate was reported as 30.00 by QuickTime Player 7.7’s Movie Inspector, and as 30 by ffprobe.

Would it be possible for you to please send us a copy of your Draft script, and a movie file that reproduces this problem? You can send us files over this forum, or by using our ticket system.

Hi Paul.

I verified on my side with the compositor who flagged me the problem. In fact, for a Draft movie done at 30.0 fps, Quicktime and ffprobe are effectively saying it is 30 frame based. But RV, from Tweak Software is giving us the numbers I gave you earlier. We verified with Tweak and they say Quicktime and ffprobe are “probably” rounding up numbers while RV is supposed to give us the “real numbers”.

Our RV Version is : RV-3.12.19-32

Any idea?
Thanks

Maxime

Thanks, we’ll look into getting a copy of RV to test.
