Draft

So I am trying to get Draft working.

I have Deadline 5.1 - does that come with a draft license?
Also, I can’t seem to find any draft folder in the thinkbox programs folder. Should this be a concern?

I guess I needn’t say that it doesn’t do anything when I submit a render from max with draft selected and a template selected.

(I have edited the template to include the repository location)

Can anyone shine any light on what I need to do to get this up and running?

I just tried submitting a Draft job manually through the monitor.
This time a job appears in the queue, but errors out like so:

Thank you for posting the log file!

You’ll need an updated license file to use Draft. You can request a Draft beta license from our sales department.

thanks.

Requesting now.

Ok got it all up and running.

The part that still seems to be broken is the max submitter. When I select “submit dependant draft job” I don’t get any job submitted.
Any hints where I should be looking first?

R

The “submit dependent Draft job” sections in the submitters actually use the Draft Event plugin to submit the Draft job. This is done upon completion of the original job (in this case, the Max job), and requires the Draft Event Plugin to be enabled. You can enable the plugin through the Deadline Monitor by going to ‘Tools’ > ‘Configure Event Plugins’ (Only available in Super User mode), selecting Draft, and setting ‘Enabled’ to True.

From there you can also control which Pool and Group the Draft job will be submitted with, as well as a Priority offset that will be added to the Max job’s priority on submission.

Hopefully that should get you going, if not, post back here and I’ll try to figure out what else could be wrong

Cheers,

  • Jon

Thanks. That took care of that.

Now onto the next problem
