Email Notification setup

Hello. I am having problems sending notification email from Deadline 6. Here’s a little background:

I’ve asked our Network team to set up the SMTP server for this matter, which they did.
They’ve asked me which server will the email be sent out, so they can open the relay server to that particular IP address, I gave them the repository server IP.
I launched Deadline Monitor in client machine and tried to send the test email, it encounters errors and did not send out successfully.
I launched Deadline Monitor in repository server and was able to send the test email.
Then I put email address in the fields of Notification tab, and assuming emails will be sent when job is completed, but didn’t get any email after the render jobs are done.

Is there any other detail in Email Notification settings that we need to be aware of to make it work? Thanks.

Email is sent from whichever machine triggers the email, not from the repository, so there would definitely be an issue with only the repository machine whitelisted. You could set up an MTA(en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Message_transfer_agent) that would take any emails sent from your slaves internally, and sent them out, allowing you to have just the one machine authorized to send emails. Hope this helps.
