Hello,
We are switching to D6. We are doing a soft switch, meaning both version is installed on nodes while we make full transition.
We were using D5 in normal mode, but we would like to use D6 as service. But when I try to install it as service, the installer pops an alert saying “Error creating service deadline6launcherservice”
I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

Hello Francois.
That is apparently a known bug in Windows. It is actually making the service, but not applying the authentication information right. If you open Task Manager, then go to the services tab, at the bottom of the window there is a Services button. When the Services panel opens, scroll down to deadline6launcherservice and right click, choosing properties. The Log On tab will have ‘This Account’. Make sure your correct login info is there, username and password, then hit ok. That should allow the service to start. Hope that helps.
Cheers,
I have the same error but do not see the Service in the Services list. Is there more info to solve this?
Thank you.
Hey, I found this in the docs about Manually Installing the Launcher Service.
After some flaky re-entering of the password, it finally worked.
I did an RTFM so please disregard. Thanks.
