Error: FailRenderException in Nuke 12.2v4

I’ve come all the way here and I think there’s only one step left.

We are using Nuke UBL to make a render. After completing the setup of the Asset, setting Deadline in spot fleet, I put on render, but it says I can’t find the Cloud Worker’s Nuke.

Did anyone have the same problem as me?

Hello!

Looks like the machine you’re trying to use doesn’t have Nuke 12.2v4 installed on it. If you’re using one of our AMIs it doesn’t have 12.2v4 installed on it and you’ll have to upgrade it yourself. Fortunately you’ll be able to use the existing Nuke AMI as your starting point and you can follow the steps to customize an AMI for AWS Portal here.

If you’ve already done that, make sure that the 12.2v4 executable path is listed in the Monitor under Tools → Configure Plugins → Nuke 12.2 so Deadline is looking in the right spot for the executable.

Let us know if you’ve got any questions!

Thank you, Justin.B
Configuration Plugins are all set up, so I think I’ll have to touch customized an AMI eventually.

Spot Fleet didn’t have a Nuke, so I accessed it with the DeadLine License and caught the workers.
The question is, how does the Nuke License work on the VPC that I will contact?
I have 10 UBS NUKE 60 hours. I think they’re using this to operate the VPC, right?

Yes, the Nuke Usage Based Licensing hours you’ve bought will be used to license the AWS Portal Workers.

I’m sure you’ve already got it set up, but if your Workers fail to checkout Nuke licenses I recommend referring to our AWS Portal Setup Checklist — Deadline 10.1.15.2 documentation

I think we’re almost there.
As you told me, I set up AMI and installed Nuke.
Still, the error log as below appears.

Nuke is not running. Running will turn the dos window on and off quickly.
I looked for the .nuke folder inside C://USER/ to set the nuke for VPC, but I couldn’t find it.
How can I set the Nuke Render Job Submission on VPC?

P.S I set up the license forwarder in the first place, but nothing’s changed.

So this probably isn’t a licensing issue. That error is just saying that Nuke has shut down and we don’t know why.

Could you share the whole render log?

To install the Nuke submitter (to submit jobs from inside of Nuke) follow the steps here - Nuke — Deadline 10.1.15.2 documentation

As for the license forwarder, the second one listed is the one running on the Gateway EC2 instance. You don’t need to run your own.

Yes, I think it’s AMI’s problem, not the license issue. But I don’t know what to do anymore.
If you tell us how we will share the AMI we are using.
Or can I get the AMI for Nuke 12.2v4?

Finally, we achieved it.
It was an OS issue where the nuke will be installed.

Justin, thank you. It was a great help.
See you again~!

Thanks for sharing how to fix the issue, I’m making a note of that!
