Error Loading Power Group Management Group

Hey, we installed a HWg-STE PoE Thermometer in our server room. When I add the sensor, the data transfer seems to work and shows the correct values. So it should be fine

However, when I configurate the Thermal Threshold, click on OK and than open up the power management again, this error opens and the sensor is no longer setup up.

Kinda dont understand what this message mean.

Which version of Deadline is this? It looks like we’re trying to get the temperature unit (Celsius or Fahrenheit) from the temperature data and getting nothing back.

Could we also get a deadlinemonitor log from when this happens?

The logs will be on the machine in one of these locations:
Windows: C:\ProgramData\Thinkbox\Deadline10\logs
Linux: /var/log/Thinkbox/Deadline10
Mac OS X: /Library/Logs/Thinkbox/Deadline10

I’m not sure at the moment what you’d need to do to work around the issue, but I’ll know more with that info.
Thanks!

We are using 10.3.0.15 Release (76d003b0a)

Perfect thanks! This is something we broke in Deadline 10.3. You could work around it by putting the latest client 10.2 on a single machine and doing your configuration there. There issue is 100% in the UI, the backing configuration should be just fine, but not something you could configure in a 10.3 client install till we fix it.

Hey, cool that there is a workaround. What files do I need to transfer from the 10.2 version to 10.3?

No specific files in this case, since the issue is we’re running Python 3.10 in Deadline 10.3, and we can’t swap that out.

Instead you’d run the 10.2 client installation and when prompted, block auto-upgrade so Deadline doesn’t try to move your intentionally out of date install to 10.3 on you. Ideally this machine wouldn’t be an artist’s computer, since there might be quirks with job submission I’m overlooking.

Got it. I installed it on a old PC that we had standing around. Worked flawlessly. Thanks for your help
