Error starting the Krak Gui

Hello

big problem over here.

upon trying to open krak gui i get the following error

– Syntax error: at ), expected ‘then’ or ‘do’

– In Line: if any limit groups have vbeen collected, o

I have tried to uninstall/reinstall, but no joy.

Im still able to render from Krakatoa, and access the Prt loaders via the mod tab.

This has now happened on 2 diff machines, both running xp 64, max 9 64

RC build of Krak.

thx sam

Could you try changing that “o” to “do” and see what happens?

Sounds like a Deadline problem - the line you quoted is from the SubmitMaxToDeadline_Functions.ms file which Krakatoa loads if Deadline is detected on the system.

What version of Deadline (if any) do you have installed on your machines?

As a temp. solution, you can open the KrakatoaGUI.ms file, search for the line

DetectDeadline()

and remark it like

–DetectDeadline()

to prevent Krakatoa from loading the Deadline Functions in the future.

We should still investigate what is causing the error - if you have indeed a version of Deadline on these machines, can you open the SubmitMaxToDeadline script and see if it launches correctly? Also, can you check the size and date of the SubmitMaxToDeadline_Functions.ms file in your Repository\submission\3dsmax folder?

Thanks!

we are running deadline 2.7

the submits are

3kb for Deadline-3dsCmd2Deadline.mcr,

and

10kb for Deadline-SubmitMaxToDeadline.mcr.

the submit to deadline works correctly.

commenting out the krakatoaGUI.ms did work.

yay

I don’t need the MCR sizes.

I need the size in BYTES of the file SubmitMaxToDeadline_Functions.ms located on the Repository server in the subfolder \submission\3dsmax

This is the file both SMTD and Krakatoa use to perform the submission. All the rest is UI fluff.

Still, I would expect either both SMTD and Krakatoa failing to start, or both starting. There is something fishy going on here and I would love to figure out what. After all, we are trying to fix bugs here, right? :o)

Cheers,

Bobo

heh, ya sorry about that. i realized after i posted, but did not have access to the Deadline server.(I do now)

the File is 149kb or 151,926 bytes.

there has bin no problem’s with the Deadline submission.

I have used it several times before and after the Krakatoa ui bug showed.

The ui bug itself did not show up until after a couple of days of use.

squashing bugs would be good!

cheers
