Error w/ Maya rendering

I have a user seeing the following sort of error when attempting to render from Maya Complete 7.0. I’m being told that this is occuring when attempting to render files in any format other than Maya’s “native” IFF format. For example, this sort of error is cropping up on TIF’s, PNG’s, etc.



A Google search wasn’t terrible helpful. Any ideas what might cause this?

Hi Ed,



The only time I’ve been able to reproduce error code 1 with Maya is when the slave rendering the scene doesn’t have permissions to write the output to the specified location, but of course Maya outputs information that makes this clear.



That’s strange that it works with IFFs, but not TIFs or PNGs. Nothing in the output looks out of the ordinary when compared to the tests that we ran.



One thing you could try is rendering the scene from the command line outside of Deadline to see if you still run into the problem. The slave log outputs the executable and command line arguments, so you can reference that to do the test. At least that would determine if it’s a Deadline problem or simply a Maya problem.
