Error writing mov with Nuke 8v3

Hello,

I’m trying to submit a mov render with Nuke 8v3, and the slaves are giving me this error:

=======================================================
Error

Error in RenderTasks: [11:23.53] ERROR: Bad value for codec : jpeg
at Deadline.Plugins.ScriptPlugin.RenderTasks(String taskId, Int32 startFrame, Int32 endFrame, String& outMessage, AbortLevel& abortLevel)

Maybe the codec value that gets passed on is malformed? I get similar errors when trying out with other codecs.

Thanks!

Hey there! Not sure why Nuke wouldn’t be able to handle JPEG, but it doesn’t feel like a Slave problem. Can you try running this particular scene manually on one the render nodes that threw this error and seeing if they have the same problem? It’ll be a lot easier to troubleshoot there than through Deadline.

Alright. I ran the slave on my workstation, and it worked. So something on the codec side then, but it’s just photo jpeg in a mov, that doesn’t need extra codecs… if you have any ideas - welcome, if not - I’ll google it up.

Thanks!

Did Deadline run Nuke on your workstation before? Sometimes render nodes can be a little trickier.

I agree this is all pretty strange.

With Nuke 8, it’s the first time, it might have ran Nuke 6.2 before. And it’s fine when rendering image sequences, just errors on quicktimes

I did a little bit of digging online, and I’m not finding a solution there either. Interesting bit though is someone had the same problem over on The Foundry forums:
forums.thefoundry.co.uk/phpBB2/v … php?t=5518

No answer there either.

If you have some time today, I can probably give 30 minutes to see if we can figure this out together. Just dial 1-866-419-0283 ext 2 and I should be around to answer.

is quicktime installed on the slave?

Hi Chris,
Yes, I just tried with it installed, same error.

Eamsler, sure man, I’ll be online tonight (your morning, if you’re PDT) so we can check it out. Skype would be great, is that cool for you guys? I’m ‘glacierise’ there.

Added! We’ll see what we can find out tomorrow.
