Errors occured in Maya2009 rendering

Hi All,

I have installed maya2009, which has not been activated yet but works.

When I use Maya’s built-in Mental Ray to render a simple Maya scene created by myself, everything works fine.

However, if I try to render a complexed scene using the HDR texture and GI lighting, Maya’s built-in Mental Ray will fail to work. The error message is as follows:

Exception during render: An error occurred in RenderTasks(): Deadline caught error “mel: Error: (Mayatomr) : could not get a license”. If this error message is unavoidable but not fatal to your render, please email deadline-support@franticfilms.com with the error message, and disable the plugin setting StrictErrorChecking. (FranticX.Processes.ManagedProcessAbort) (Deadline.Plugins.RenderPluginException)
at Deadline.Plugins.ScriptPlugin.RenderTasks(Int32 startFrame, Int32 endFrame, String& outMessage

Any help would be highly appreciated!

Deadline is just the messenger in this case. Mental ray is complaining that it can’t find a license, which is something that Deadline doesn’t have any control over. Maybe double check that mental ray is licensed properly on the machine, or that there aren’t any problems with the license server that serves these licenses.

That is strange though that a simple scene would work, but a complex one does not. As far as I know, mental ray doesn’t license features separately.

Cheers,

  • Ryan
