external shutdown of slave - log entry

Is it possible to add a shutdown reason log entry when we kill the slave from externally using the -shutdown command?

We have a couple of reasons for the shutdowns (on workstations, when the artist comes in in the morning, or if ram usage is close to 100% on the machine etc.), and we want to make sure these dont just show up as errors on the job, but with some meaningful log. Otherwise artists / tds spend time troubleshooting a red herring.

If the slave is currently rendering a job when it is shutdown, it should create a requeue report for task it was working on indicating why the task was requeued. Can you check to see if the requeue report is actually generated?

I’ll confirm that it does, but we would like to add something to that, like:

“Too much ram usage, requeuing”

and

“Artist is back, requeuing”

etc

Ah, okay. I’ll add that to the wish list.
