This is a fairly large feature request but I’d like to have it so that I can assign a grouping ID to my jobs, or maybe just use ExtraInfo values…
So in the Deadline monitor the list of jobs would be a tree-view not just a list. If I had 10 Deadline jobs all part of one shot, then each job would be group under one entry which could be expanded and then you would be able to see the progress for the entire shot with one entry.
You could nest multiple groups so you’d be able to split it to different projects, different users or different versions however you wanted to, lots of flexibility would be great!
My render farm is currently full of jobs, and it would be great to just have some organisation to be able to see what’s going on a bit clearer.
I can make a mock-up if it’s not clear enough.
For instance we have ExtraInfos set for Project and Shot. We would be able to say group deadline jobs by Project then by Shot.
ExtraInfo1 = Projects
ExtraInfo2 = Shots
SortingOrder = #(Projects,Shots)

I just heard back from the dev team, and they have advised me something like this is included in Deadline 7, which just went into beta yesterday. In 7, you can set a batch name for jobs and they will be grouped together, though it should be noted it doesn’t supported nested grouping, the grouping is just one level deep.
