Field loader issue. possible bug

I am getting this error when I load in a fume sim via field loader. If you see the image the field is showing up in the wrong place. its should be down where the leaf shaped geometry is I am using the same scale and geometery in the file that I am simming the fume, seems like something to with the fact that my fume grid extends to the negative Z as well.

Is the field loader considered work in progress or is it ready to go?

Thanks

I believe the current version has a bug in the “Apply Transforms” checkbox function. Try UNchecking the checkbox underneath the file path field and see if it changes anything. I will be looking at the bug tomorrow.

I did try that that, didn’t help. although it did let me manually position it as it was in world space.

Thanks

FumeFX data is in Object space. That means that the FXD file does NOT contain any transforms, they are provided by the simulation grid (the FumeFX object itself).
You must align the Stoke Field Loader Pivot to the FumeFX Grid’s Pivot for the two to load at the same location.

The current bug in the Field Loader is that the checkbox is inverted - when Apply Object Transforms is UNchecked, it does apply the transforms. So the right approach is to uncheck it (in the next build when we fix it it will have to stay checked), and then place the loader where the FumeFX position was.

If this still does not help, I will need to see more (scene, FXD files).

Thanks It works when aligned with the Fume grid. I was hoping that step could be skipped
