Frost can handle a lot of particles, and that’s absolutely great.
But it would be nice to have some options for the viewport, like displaying particles as dot, ticks or bounding boxes, because using custom geometry make it hard to play.
Krakatoa provides an excellent way to visualize the raw particles for your files (and several other sources), while particle sources like Particle Flow or Thinking Particles already have viewport displays. What sort of functionality are you missing with this combo? Keep in mind that Krakatoa’s unlicensed version only really limits your ability to render. It has no restrictions on using PRT Loaders and other helpful objects.
Ok,I didn t see this “Krakatoa way”.
Loading realflow’s .bin with krakatoa, and select this Krakatoa with Frost with the viewport unchek, why not.
Another alternative - if you switch the meshing mode to Vertex Cloud and check the “Show Vertex Ticks” in the Frost’s object display options, you will get something very similar to large dots in PRT Loader.
