So I was wondering what the silent installation switches were (if they are in fact there) to install Frost across our workstations/render nodes. Render nodes I could (I think) just copy the DLU/O/L’s I guess but I was kinda hoping to have the ability to bring the installer into our current deployment app and that would require MSI switches (unless I can install it on workstations with just a file copy as well?)
They are slowly getting there, it seems like these days almost everyone at least has a silent installer, or like a group of files that you can at least copy for the render nodes.
RSMB just put out a MultiHost Floating v4. It crosses Fusion/AE/Nuke and Mac/Windows and it floats (1 license!), absolutely amazing, AND it can sit in a single location on the network (for Nuke/Fusion anyway), how much more perfect can you get?! I always try and talk the boss into throwing in extra $$ to purchase that kind of ease in deployment and a worry-free universal version control.
So much easier to just make sure drives are mapped/mounted.
It’s gotta suck running a PHPBB board and not being able to just outright ban every Chinese/Russian Class B. I started getting spam on a couple of my boards and just flat out banned enormous chunks of the internet, voila. Apparently their bots can’t manage to spoof IP’s or run their garbage through a proxy.
