I know there were a number of changes to Deadline on the slave ends of things (deadlinelauncher6.exe etc) to try and isolate Deadline 6 however have you isolated the database tables and names for Deadline 6? I’m just thinking of when Deadline 7 comes out we might want to run both side by side until 7beta inevitably is stable enough for production use. Seeing as 6.1 is I assume the last build of 6 we’ll get, it would be nice if you were planning on that now so that we don’t have to wait for Deadline 7/8 to run two versions in parallel.
Actually, all that needs to be done is to choose a new database name when installing Deadline 7, and we’re going to ensure that the default includes the Deadline version number in it. The databases are separate from each other, and thus all their collections are isolated.
