Anything we should be aware of our disclaimers before rolling out 6.0?
This is the main disclaimer we posted in the beta announcement:
We do not consider Deadline 6 to be production ready at this point. If you are in production, we still urge you to install Deadline 6 on a few machines and give us feedback. The faster we track down any bugs that exist, the faster Deadline 6 will be ready for production. Please use the appropriate sub-forums to discuss the software and post bugs or suggestions.
Also, this initial beta release only includes support for Windows and Linux. The next beta release should include Mac OSX support.
Here is some additional info:
The basic rendering and monitoring should work as expected. There may be an issue with machine limits or limit groups with limits greater than 0 (essentially, a problem with enabled limits) where jobs won’t get picked up. We’ve seen it crop up during some basic testing, but haven’t dug enough to find the cause yet. If you see this behavior, please report it as a bug anyways.
There are also things in the Monitor that aren’t hooked up yet (ie: power management, statistics, etc).
Finally, the slave UI appears to lock up temporarily when dumping large amounts of stdout to the log.
Those are the big ones we’re aware of. I’m sure there’s more we’re not aware of.
