Hello,
Scenario 3DsMax 2025, Deadline 10.4.1, Vray 6
I would like to show the 3Ds max render progress dialogue while rendering.
I am migrating from BackBurner to Deadline
We have a situation where the company culture is to press STOP on the render progress dialogue, when renders are ‘‘good enough’’ when renders are needed rapidly, often ahead of a meeting.
Pressing STOP not only stops the render but saves all the render elements to the pre-defined paths as set in the VFB settings.
Unfortunately, Deadline appears to hide this dialogue, and to do the same Via the VFB means you need to manually path the file location each time you wish to save… Quite frustrating if you are stopping 15 renders.
Is there a way of getting this dialogue visible? I seem to remember it was there on previous versions of deadline.
One common question I have had is, if I press “complete job” does this stop AND save. It would be great if it did! but this just seems to cancel the job and mark it as complete.
Thanks for your help @thinkbox support!
Hello, can someone help me on this please?
I wish to promote deadline, but not being able to interrupt a render and save the output with a single click. As is currently possible with backburner, could be a deal breaker.
Or another way of putting this, please give me an answer Thinkbox support, save me from having to work with awful backburner!
I’ve tried calling you on 1-866-419-0283 , but it seems the number no longer works
Did you email support@thinkboxsoftware.com?
I don’t think this an option, but depending on what renderer you use there maybe an alternative solution such as checkpointing.
No I haven’t but thanks, I’ll do that.
Hi, I’ve been referred to paying for AWS premium support plans after emailing this address.
I guess this is the new normal.
You should really make this more public, I waited a week for a response here, and I notice others are waiting too. They may not know that they now have to pay for support.
I wasn’t really aware of this, but you’re getting the product for free at least
Well, Yes and No. I have spent thousands in the past on EC2 Spot fleets via Deadline both through my own company, and indirectly though other companies where I have implemented your software. So far AWS is winning overall.
