…get Deadline to pop open a finished movie from Draft on my screen once the Draft render ends?
Also, is there a way to note the different outputs from one job in the job listing on the monitor (ususally “Write1,” “Write2,” etc. although if I changed one to “bg_precomp” and another to “final” in their respective Write nodes, ideally those would show up)?
So instead of this:
dc_gl_comp_main_v008b_bg.nk (3/3) [DRAFT]
it would look like this:
dc_gl_comp_main_v008b_bg.nk (1/3) “Write1” [DRAFT]
dc_gl_comp_main_v008b_bg.nk (3/3) “bg_precomp” [DRAFT]
If you’re saving the movie to the location specified by the ‘outFile’ parameter, you should be able to double-click on the completed Task (in the Task pane, not the Job pane) and it should open up the video in the default player. However, if you’re saving it at any other location – and I believe you are, from the templates you’ve sent us – Deadline has no idea where the output is, and therefor can’t really open it up for you.
As for your second question (displaying Write node names in the Job name), that’s not really possible for us to do automatically, since the Event Plugin is designed to work with a multitude of different programs, and they all handle multiple outputs differently. The best we could do is put the output file name in the comment or something like that, would that be enough for you?
Cheers,
