How many slaves can a Deadline Repository manage at the same time, ignoring file server IO performance and software certificates?
I don’t think there is a clear limit?
As long as your database server and fileserver supports it.
You could run the balancer application to keep stuff running smoothly.
From what I’ve heard around the office it gets shaky at 2000 or so workers. But there’s work being put in to handle more, as AWS really lets you spin up as much as you’d like.
Just an update here now that we’ve shipped 10.1: The guys have done great work with the Remote Connection Server and it should now support at least 4x (Windows) and 10x (Linux) what it was capable of in previous releases. We’re a bit hand wavy on the total numbers but if you’re able to cause scaling problems using the RCS we’d be very interested in talking with you to remove whatever bottleneck you managed to hit!
