i am using deadline 4.0 and submit a 3dsmax2009 scene file which contain three scenestates for deadline…but it cant complete all the scenestate render like the Batch Render option in 3dsmax. How should i do by deadline
Hi there,
Our integrated Deadline submitter for 3dsmax has a batch submission option under the Misc tab:
thinkboxsoftware.com/3ds-max/#Misc_Tab
Have you tried using this? If you have and you’re experiencing problems with it, let us know.

i have set up a very simple scene containing a cube and a cylinder over a poly plane with two scenestate : MasterBeauty and RGB1. Masterbeauty only renders the textured geometries without GI turned on while RGB1 renders the objects in three channels. I can render the two scenestate by my machine using .bat generated from the max’s Batch Render Option. But when i use the deadline and turn on the Use Data from 3ds Max Batch Render option in Misc Tab, the deadline split the Master Batch and the MasterBeauty render scussessfully. The RGB1 Batch also complete the render but the output tif is black without alpha
Can you post the simple scene you’re using to reproduce this problem? We can try it here to see if we can reproduce.
Thanks!
- Ryan
The bitmap class plugin that is being used to save out the “*.tif” file might be corrupt.
Can you try just changing the output file format to something like a jpeg for a quick test. Re-submit and see if your render then comes out.
If it does, then switch the render output in 3dsMax back to *.tif and see if that fixes the issue?

here is the scene and project folder i used to test
Thanks for the test scene. I should have time today to test it out here.

I can reproduce the problem here, but it’s not obvious why the problem is occurring. I’ll pass along more information when we find something.

One thing I noticed is that there are no presets defined for each batch item. Because of this, no batch settings are sent with the job, and as a result the batch jobs are broken. Try explicitly setting presets for each batch item and submit again to see if that helps.
There may a bug in our batch submitter tool that might still prevent this from working (this is what I found in our 5.0 beta build), but because you’re using 4.0, it’s possible that this bug hasn’t been introduced yet.
