The Krakatoa Image Contest is about to end.
We would like to ask you to submit your final images and videos before Monday, August 20th.
(Initially, the deadline was August 12th, but the week after Siggraph is usually slow so we decided to stretch it a bit)

Well, here is the announcement.
Except for your continued work and Jignesh’s, we did not receive any submissions (thanks, everybody!).
So we decided to give both of you a Krakatoa license. (we would have given you one anyway, you keep on pushing us farther than we intended to go, so it is in part your product, too ;o)
Congratulations, and sorry for the long wait, we are in the middle of crunch time finishing two movies by the end of the month and we barely find time to do anything else.
Oh, we needed to SUBMIT stuff? Oh crap, I would have packaged it up all nice and professional-like. Oops. I thought the stuff on this board and the CGTalk discussion was considered submitted by default.
Well congratulations to Jignesh, there were some really nice and imaginative renders there. I was going to mention some other renders I had seen as noteworthy, but then I realized they were from Frantic employees, so that would explain a lot. I’ve been spreading the word on Krakatoa, letting people know that points are the future. Hopefully we’ll get some more traffic on the regular board.
Ok, good luck on your deadlines, Bobo. We’re wrapping up a nephrology conference booth over here with Krakatoa renderings 10 feet tall. Thank goodness Krakatoa doesn’t mind large raster sizes.
