Licensing

The VMX Balancer requires additional licensing in addition to the license for Deadline 6.2 Beta. Without a license, VMX Balancer will run, but it will not spawn new VM instances in any cloud region.

To request a new Alpha license, send the following information to sales (at) thinkboxsoftware (dot) com:

  1. Include “Requesting VMX Alpha License.” in both the message subject and message body.
  2. Your company’s name in the body, if applicable.
  3. The FlexLM server machine name.
  4. Physical Ethernet address (NIC address) of the FlexLM server computer.

Compatibility

At this time, the VMX Balancer runs on Windows 7 or later. VMX is not CPU intensive, so you do not need a particularly powerful machine. The machine running VMX should be able to communicate with the endpoints of the enabled cloud regions, the Deadline Repository, and the Deadline Database (MongoDB).
