Initial experience with the cloud setup

When I first installed the 7.1.0.16R beta it took a bit of digging to find out why I could not see my Amazon cloud instances in the cloud panel despite having the cloud providers being correctly configured. The console had a warning that my user account could not spawn the cloud widget.

The problem was that I needed to go to manage user groups > create a new user group for cloud users, or go to everyone > UI features > and enable Cloud Panel.

I think it would have saved me time if a dialog box appeared when the cloud widget errored out telling me that I don’t have permissions to view the Cloud Panel.

Good suggestion, Matt. We’ll look at some ways to handle this and get something into the beta. Another option might be to warn the user at the time of adding a cloud region that the cloud panel access is not configured.
