It would be great if you could have the installer use an encrypted file for its configuration. That way we could put our administrator passwords into the setup settings without exposing it in plain text on our file server somewhere. It wouldn’t be bullet proof but it would be an improvement on the status quo. Or it could be a self escalating system much like the “mapped drives” login settings (see feature request in the general Deadline forum) so that slaves could be run in a specific user permissions level regardless. Not sure if that’s possible to bootstrap or not.
It doesn’t look like the Bitrock installer software we use supports this. I don’t think you can even use plain text config files as input, let alone encrypted ones.
