Installing AERender on nodes without CC

We’ve been using Deadline for Fusion Studio 16 with great results. I would like to setup After Effects but I know that getting AE installed on all the nodes is quite a chore via CC. Fusion can be installed remotely.

I’m sure others have solved this but is there a better way to do this with AE than installing CC, signing in, installing, signing out, etc.

Hi Matt,

I am sure you have researched this online already, but in general it is not supported by Adobe, unless you are in a particular group of users (gov. agencies etc.) that require fully air-gapped networks where an internet connection is out of the question.

However, I remember a customer logging into their Adobe management account and building a custom installer executable with just AE, and that one refused to install on a cloud VM, while the CC approach worked. So even that approach might not work for all cases.

If there is a workaround to mass-install aerender without CC and/or virtualization, I don’t know it.

Actually figured out a low tech way that’s working so far: copy the installed copy onto another machine. Did it with one Mac mini so far as a test.
I’ll have to try the same on windows but so far so good.
