Issue connecting to database

I’m still struggling to get this new Deadline 10.4 installation set up (we have an existing 10.1 setup that works great, but I wasn’t around for the setup).

I have, I think, opened up the right ports on the Rocky Linux box that is
running the database, because iptables outputs “accept” “anywhere” “27100.” That answers the go-to solution mentioned in this support article.

Could_Not_Connect_To_Database_987

I ran Test-NetConnection from the Windows client that is unable to connect to the database, and the results are a bit odd. Ping succeeded = true, but TCPTestsucceeded = false. Also it can’t find it at all by the machine name.

Any hints?

So far this forum is very reliable at having one person comment with something very helpful, love you guys…

check the logs on the db server to see it is up and running
/opt/Thinkbox/DeadlineDatabase…

systemctl stop firewalld
check the firewall isn’t stopping something somewhere

/etc/selinux/config
set selinux to disabled and see if that is causing issues.

seems like your DNS resolves? or is it possible the IP changed and you’re pinging the wrong machine?
