KCM Transform failure

1.5.0.37168

3ds max 9 x64

Adding any Transform anywhere in the MagmaFlow is causing PRT Loaders and PRT Volumes to fail.

  1. Create PRT Loader with PRT or PRT Volume with geometry node.
  2. Add KCM modifier.
  3. Open KCE.
  4. Add any Transform node. Does not need to be connected.
  5. KCM fails.

Hmm… I’m getting all kind of pain from the KCM’s.

  1. Create PRT Volume (with geometry with bounding box less than 100x100x100, don’t want any large scale issues)
  2. Add KCM.
  3. IN:Channel:Position -> Absolute -> OUT:Color
  4. Render.

I’m getting lots of NaN’s in the color and alpha. But shouldn’t the values be 0-100 (in color)?

EDIT: Added a Multiply to scale the results down by .0005, between the Abs and the OUT, same result. Multiplying by 1000 didn’t change things either.

EDIT: AW NUTS! PCache was on. Need to change my defaults! Ok, lemme try this again…

We have fixed the first one, but I cannot repro the second one. Can you supply me with the scene? It sounds simple enough, but my teapot has expected values.

It was the PCache. I was still rendering a previous bad KCM from cache.

Please note that the build 37202 posted this morning fixes the Transform node bug.
If you want, I can post the fixed script files as a ZIP archive here - it was a UI level bug and did not require a recompile of the DLR.

Nah, our plugin updating system doesn’t care, so I’ll do it the “official” way.
