i noticed that krakatoa has repeatedly crashed, due to my harddrive reaching between 30 and 500mb
not sure if this can be cured, just wanted to let you guys know,
obviously my system harddrive should never get that low! 
What sort of particle sources are you using when this happens? Krakatoa shouldn’t use ANY disk space for almost all of its operations. Are you saving particles to disk, and it runs out of space or just rendering existing particles?

i also noticed there were gigabytes of krakatoa render presets saved that i cleared up one day
When Krakatoa crashes what sort of crashing behaviour are you seeing? An error message? Right to desktop?
goes right to autodesk error screen, so, pretty instant
