Some of you have asked us about the silence of the Beta forums as of lately, so I thought it would be a good idea to post an explanation.
Initially, we intended to do a quick 1.2 update around Siggraph with a couple of major features like more multi-threading and particle skinning.
But, as usual, internal production needs forced us to change our plans.
At this point, we are working on a major update to Krakatoa with tons of new features required by the movie projects we are working on. This means that while we cannot give you a beta build to play with in the short term, it will bring you much coolness in the long run. We cannot even tell whether the next version will be called 1.2, 1.5 or 2.0, or how much of our development will be actually visible at Siggraph. But if you go to LA, make sure to stop by our booth and see what we’ve got.
Cheers,
Bobo
