Major New Features

• Added Particle Repopulation to the PRT Cloner Modifier, exposing the features already available in Krakatoa MY and SR.
• PRT 1.1 file format I/O with Global and Per-Channel Metadata support.
• Implemented Units conversion via Global Metadata - “LengthUnitInMeters” defines the file scale vs. 1 Generic Unit = 1 Meter scale.
• Implemented Coordinate System conversion via Global “CoordSys” Metadata value and per-channel “Interpretation” Metadata values specifying the channel’s semantic meaning (Point, Vector, Orientation, Rotation etc.)
• Installer now supports 3ds Max 2014 64 bit.

PRT Loader Improvements

• Support for PRT 1.1 Metadata
• Automatic units and coordinate system conversion of PRT 1.1 files containing relevant global Metadata
• Krakatoa File Sequence Manager now displays the global Metadata of PRT 1.1 files, as well as the per-channel “Interpretation” Metadata, if present.
• The Density channel of RealFlow BIN files is now loaded as RFDensity to avoid collisions with the Krakatoa Density channel - in some cases, Density could end up 0.0 in previous versions.

PRT Cloner Modifier Improvements

• Random Seed is now animatable and is applied to all relevant modes (Spherical, Repopulation)
• Source channels and distributed particles’ channels are now both preserved and can be accessed via Magma to produce any combination.

Krakatoa UI

• The Multi-Threaded Loading is now exposed in the Main Controls in addition to the System Preferences, and defaults to off. It can be turned on to speed up PRT Loaders containing multiple sequences.
• The Global Overrides exposure in the VFB Extensions was broken and would not allow the creation and setting of Global Channel Overrides. This has been fixed.

Magma Improvements

• NearestParticle node now has a button to insert a ParticleQuery node.
• Magma Scale channel now allows both Vector and Float values to be set.
• Custom Channel names now allow _Underscore characters which are valid according to the PRT format specification.
• Dragging and Dropping nodes from the Depot set to Bottom used to disallow the node creation of the drop location was below the original position in the Depot. This has been changed to disallow only if the node is dropped below the Depot’s base line. In other words, to cancel a Drag, you can now drop below the Depot.
• Setting the InputChannel list to the first entry of the list was broken, this has been fixed.
• PRT Surface is now supported as a valid InputParticles object in Magma.
• Switching the Node Type used to cause the wrong node to be selected. This has been fixed.

MAXScript Exposure

• The FranticParticles.KrakatoaParticleOStream() constructor method replaces the KrakatoaParticleOStream() global function. All relevant shipping scripts using this method have been updated, and 3rd party scripts will require minor changes.
• The FranticParticles.KrakatoaParticleOStream() was not closing files property, thus failing to create valid CSV files. This has been fixed.
• The stream’s getChannels() method now returns a single string per channel instead of an array of strings. Relevant code in Particle Data Viewer and Particle Stream example scripts has been updated accordingly.
