Hi,
On Windows, if I start up monitor, then launcher starts up automatically if it’s not already running. This isn’t the case on OSX. Start up monitor and launcher does not auto start up.

The shortcut in the Start menu on Windows calls the launcher. If you were to launch the Monitor from the bin folder, then it would just start the Monitor.
On OSX, when you launch Monitor from Finder, it’s essentially the same as running it from the bin folder on Windows, which is why it doesn’t also launch the Launcher.

Fair enough. Could something be done to ‘unify’ the experience across the platforms?
It kind of feels right for launcher to start-up if monitor is opened in GUI mode?
We’ve considered having the .app folder for the Monitor go through the launcher, but that doesn’t really feel correct either.
The OSX client installer should be setting the launcher to run at startup though, and the launcher sort of acts as that unifying tool.

OK. Maybe we just need to have the launcher ‘truly’ running in the system tray, without anything in the dock and that will be good enough?
Maybe, but it still technically “runs” in the system tray right now, it just has the additional, though unnecessary, dock icon.
