I had a couple of slaves running successfully on Google Compute Engine, all running Deadline 8.0.0.40 Beta (5479c255b) on Windows Server 2012. Now that I’ve ramped up the number of slaves I’m running, every last one of my slaves (including the ones running successfully before) now produces this error:
Running fewer machines fixes the problem (mostly – there are still occasional machines reporting failures), but ideally I would like to run the full complement of machines.
I’ve reduced the number of machines we’re running on to about 120, but in practice we’ve only been able to render on about 100 of them at a time. I’ve been seeing another license error pop up here and there:
Hmmm, based on the first log you provided, it seems like there’s a bug on our side, we must not be closing our connections to the server properly in between requests.
We’ll have a look at it, it definitely shouldn’t be artificially limited like this.
The “code: 55 (Requesting host is not registered on the license server.)” error is something that normally comes up when the configured Activation Code is invalid, but this might be indirectly getting caused by the first error message you reported.
