Local render much faster than Deadline Render

Hi!

I am currently setting up deadline for my 3 pc at home but before I set it up on the other 2 pc, I am trying to iron out issues on my own pc first.

My local render is 40sec while on Deadline is 11min.
Logs.7z (11.3 KB)

Not sure what I am doing wrong, anyone can help me take a look at my logs?

When you’re rendering outside of Deadline, what time does Redshift report on this line:

Time to render 90 blocks: 6m:5s

And when you’re rendering on your own pc outside of Deadline how many GPUs are used? Your render is using a single GPU which may be the difference.

Hey, thanks for the reply.

Outside of Deadline, it is only 1 GPU too because I only have 1 GPU on all my workstations.

I assume 90 blocks is the whole frame, the whole render time for 1 frame is 40 secs.
Is there any settings I have configured wrongly?
I suspect tho that Deadline is not utilising my GPU enough, no evidence expect from how loud my GPU is when rendering through Deadline or Local.

You can check with the task manager, GPU usage is reported in there nowadays.

As for running a render equivalent to how Deadline runs it you’ll have to go through the troubleshooting guide to run the render outside of Deadline.

Keep in mind that Deadline just starts applications - we don’t have a way to cap GPU usage during render or anything like that. So if things are misbehaving then we need to figure out what we’re telling Maya/Redshift to do.

I went back and check the GPU usage and both Deadline and Local are using close to 99% from task manager but theres definitely a difference in sound level tho, its obvious because I use a blower type gpu. And 1 thing I notice is that, through Deadline, GPU Memory is at 23.5/24gb while rendering and for Local, it is only 15/24gb.

It seems RS is going out of core through Deadline?

Anyway this are the findings I found, I will go though the troubleshooting guide for now. Thanks!
