Could this be made to be turned on by default after a fresh install?
I find myself having to edumicate all new users on how to fix the “super eager autodocking”.
Hmm, I can see the reverse where a user might become frustrated that they can’t rearrange their tabs or panels, and not realize this is because the UI is locked by default. I think it seems more natural to set up the UI the way you like it first, and then lock it after.
This is becoming a source of great frustration amongst the users here 
They dont know about the options, and they frankly, dont care. They want to get their renders out, and see whats happening on the farm. Right now as soon as they get a menu up, and move it, it autodocks, ruining the layout they set up.
We now have a render wrangler go machine to machine and lock it manually for every user
If it’s that big of an issue, I think we can have it locked by default. We’ll do this for beta 18.
