I occasionally miss click and close a panel. I feel like if the lock UI checkbox is engaged you shouldn’t be able to close panels.
Hey Gavin,
That definitely makes sense, however there are other things to consider:
-
If locking the UI implies that you can’t close any panels, should that also imply that you can’t spawn any new panels? If so, then you wouldn’t be able to right-click on a job and view that job’s error reports (since they’re opened in another panel).
-
If we still allow new panels to be created, what if someone wants to close that panel (the example with viewing the job reports applies here as well).
Thinking abut it some more, maybe locking the UI could only disable the close button for panels that are docked. That way, you could still create a new panel and close it if it’s undocked. If you want to close a docked panel, you would simply have to undock it first (since we could leave that button enabled).
How does that sound?
Cheers,
Ryan
