Machine user name

We are having some issues with Machine user names being incorrect (ie. not corresponding to windows logins) and I am trying to understand where Machine User name comes from. We have some Win10 PC’s where deadline initially was installed under a different user, but this user no longer exists on the local machine, still it is showing up when queuing jobs and in the local slave controls.

Will we need to re-install under the current userto change this, or do we try using the ‘Render job as user’ settings?

You won’t need “Render job as user”. It should show up as the account it’s running under traditionally by pulling it from the “UserName” variable on Windows.

Are you running the Launcher as a service? If so, did you use the current username/password combo in the client installation? You can look in Window’s “Services” snap-in for “Deadline 10 Launcher Service” to see what account it’s running as and change it there.
