i cannot get mail after a job is completed.
the problem is still alive.
i am using the deadlinecommand.exe -sendemail -to "mymail@domain.com" -subject “come on” -message “whyyyyyyyyy?”
command to launch email but i do not get them in my account.
trying to trace via netstat i can see the message is contacting the smtp server i put in the repository setting…so something should start from my machine.
are there any other way to trace the mail?
i think i should try using another smtp server to check if i have problem on that side…
don’t u have other tips to help me solve this?
thanks in advance
Does the mail command work from any of your machines? Did you try it on
your own workstation? There could be a number of reasons why the email
notification isn’t working, and I would like to narrow it down to
whether or not it’s a Deadline specific issue.
Cheers,

i tried on different workstations and the command seems to work and send the mail.
i used netstat -b 1, a command that show you all the incoming and outgoing call in a boxx, updated each seconds.
i can see a call to the smtp server as i run the deadlinecommand.exe but i cannot understand if that mail really start:(, and
the same happen when i send a mail via outlook express (a mail that i can receive back).
let me know what else can i do…
mat
i was trying to find an alert in the client log that says that a mail has been sent…
where could it be written?
there are different log and i look a bit everywhere in the repository.
then i tried to raise the enable slave verbose logging to have more info…
is this right?
let me know…if i should read somewhere about the sent mail…
thanks in advance and have a nice day!

If you have slave verbose logging enabled, which you can set in the
repository options from the monitor, you can see if the slave is sending
a notification. If this setting isn’t already enabled, do so and then
restart your slave machines so that they recognize the change
immediately. Then submit a single frame job and go to the slave that
picks it up. After that slave renders the single task, the job will be
complete, and it should print out something like:
Notifiying [username]…
If you see this line, then the slave is trying to notify you, and the
problem might be a network issue or mail server issue. If you don’t see
this line, let us know, and we can try to figure out why the slave isn’t
trying to send the notification.
Thanks,
