Mapping channels > 1 not showing up in PRT Loader?

I was able to successfully have the PRT Loader display UVW 1 with a vertex color map and assigning that to the PRT Loader, but other map channels only show as zeros. Renders fine, but without some viewport representation, it’s hard to for us to animate masks and such.

We plan to allow any map channel to be displayed in the viewport using the existing node-level controls (Vertex Color, Mapping etc.) for preview purposes. I guess that would help...

Might fix the problem, yes, but my issue wasn’t that I couldn’t see UVW 2 as a color in the viewport (that would be awesome!) but that if I assigned the PRT Loader to “use material” and had a gradient mapped to UVW 2, it wouldn’t show up as the new vertex colors. UVW 1 would, though.

Thanks for the explanation, will log it as a bug.

Can I ask you to split your reports into Step By Step repro cases the way Autodesk requests Max bug reports? It would be easier to follow:

  1. Load a PRT with UVW 2
  2. Set color source to Material
  3. Assign a Material with Gradient map set to UVW2

RESULT: Gradient fails to use UVW2.

EXPECTED: Gradient should show in the viewport using UVW2.

    Thanks!

We found the cause for this behavior (the View Cache was not caching all possible channels) and fixed it today.

Check out Build 1.0.101.30337 - should work as expected now.
