Matte Objects Crash on Render

Are there any known gotchas that cause a crash when rendering a matte object together with krakatoa partitions?



In my current scene, krakatoa gets to the “updating matte geometry” stage and then crashes out, often with a fast exit.



Trying to troubleshoot but with little success so far…

It looks like we broke Matte Objects in this build. Logged as bug #4006.

I believe this has been fixed in the upcoming build. No word yet on when

we’ll be posting it.

i´m in desperate need of this function :smiley:



no not in desperate need at all :wink: i have a full body that disintegrates using krak for rendering. any “interior” like the skeleton should be a matte due to the fact that i want to collapse the skeleton after the “skin” layer disintegrated away…

still aloooot of work ahead to make it look cool tho. the speed of the falling particles is too high imo…

i haven´t got an animation data yet so i got kinda stuck in R&D :frowning: there´s a pointcache modifier already but no cache to load on :smiley:

in the final i plan on rendering 3 layers of krak. 150,000 particles each with a quite high density per particle which is currently at 7 and an exponent of -2. I will use up to 10 spherical deflectors st start the disintegration at different location on the body with a little delay each.
