Matte problem rendering with Deadline

Hi guys,

We’re consistently having problems with Krakatoa mattes when rendering over deadline - locally it works. We’re seeing frames without mattes and frames with partial mattes. Doesn’t look like it’s connected to the slave that renders.

I can provide a dataset showcasing the problem.

Thanks!

I have a few questions that might help narrow down the issue:
-What is generating the mesh data for these matte objects? Is it plugin-dependent, or require some external file asset?
-What material is on the matte object, is it plugin-dependent (for example, VRay Material, etc.), any external files needed in the opacity texture map?

Good call, Conrad!

I just checked the scene and pretty much every object used as a Matte has a VRay Material on it.

On October 22, 2015, in a Skype chat with Hristo, I said

I would like to urge for a solution where non-Standard materials are completely ignored as if there was no material at all…

Cool - we can easily ignore materials.

I meant that for Conrad, and to make KMX ignore them automatically if not explicitly supported.
I will run some tests and see what materials evaluate transparency reliably. In the worst case, we might support transparency only in Standard materials, and render all others as solid.

That’s cool - I’ll also do a test without materials.
