Max 2010 RC4 - Strange Artifacting in Emission Pass

This only happens when I render a sequence, single frames are fine.

The file is built in these steps

Setup Fume
Save Particle Channels
PRT Loader w/ particle sequence
Add KCM as described in help page
Render Sequence

You will obviously have to sim out the scene, it is not bad you only need the first 3 or so frames to see the error.

BTW this initially occurred in RC3, I just tried it in RC4 since you guys fixed the last bug I posted before I got to test the latest release.

We don’t have FumeFX for Max 2010 installed yet (we don’t use 2010 in production yet).
Can you right-click the pixels in the VFB and see what values are shown?

The pixel data is displaying the color. Pure red and pure yellow. The bad pixels however do not show up in the alpha.

What are the red and green values in those pixels?
There is no “pure red”, floating point 1.0 is pure red, 10.0 and 100.0 and 1000.0 are also pure red. I want to know if they appear to be infinitely high, esp. if you go down with the density.

Sorry, the real value is red 1.0, and it does not alter from red pixel to red pixel they all report the same value take .00001 but never over 1.0 . The yellow pixels report Red 1.0 and Green 1.0.

Would it be possible to prepare a Max 2008 version of the scene so we can test it here?
It would be interesting to find out how it is possible to get 0 alpha (which normally only happens in Additive rendering when Color and Absorption are black and Emission is a valid color).

Ok, here you go max 2008, it is tick for tack as close as I can get it. Also the issue does not occur max2008. Nor in 2010 on my 32-bit laptop.

Side note this seems to only be occurring on my 64-bit workstation:
WinXP64 SP2
Dual Intel 5160
8 gig ram
