hi, do you already know when you will have a build supporting max 2014 ?
All plugins that support Max 2013 already work in Max 2014. This includes Krakatoa MX 2.1.x.
We just don’t have an Installer that adds the plugin.ini entry to the 2014 build yet, but you can do that manually:
-
Locate the plugin.ini file of Max 2013 for your locale - usually “C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2013\en-US\plugin.ini” unless you are using a different language, e.g. “C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2013\de-DE\plugin.ini”. Note that the Krakatoa installer adds Krakatoa to all languages’ plugin.ini files.
-
Open the file in a text editor and find the line
Krakatoa=C:\Program Files\Thinkbox\Krakatoa MX\3dsMax2013\
Select it and copy it into the clipboard.
-
Locate the corresponding plugin.ini file of Max 2014, e.g. “C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2014\en-US\plugin.ini”
-
Make sure you are allowed to modify it - you must have Administrator rights, right-click > Properties > Security tab > Edit… > Users group or user name > check Allow / Full Control > OK > OK
-
Open the plugin.ini file of Max 2014 and paste the line from step 2.
-
Save the file.
-
Start Max 2014 - you should now have Krakatoa working. If it is not working, make sure you pasted into the plugin.ini for the right language - if your Max is in German mode, you must paste into the de-DE version of the file…
There will be an updated Krakatoa MX installer as soon as we finish the changes we are working on.
Updated Frost and XMesh installers have been posted already.
oh that easy, thanks a lot bobo !!
