Max Design on Max Farm

I have a user whose jobs just sit there queued and not rendering, There are no other tasks or any apparent reason the job isn’t rendering.

I suspected its because this user has max design and the farm has normal max.
I read about the check box to set to false the use design setting.
I have checked that and the job doesnt pick up.
There are no dependencies
there are no associated errors or logs.

I am sure I am overlooking something silly. Any ideas?

Hello,

The quickest way to figure out if there are any machines on the farm which can do a job is the Job Candidate filter. It’s a little thing that looks like a checkbox at the top of the slaves window. If you select one of this users jobs, and then the job candidate filter, you will be shown a list of machines that Deadline sees as able to take and render the job. If none show up, then this is definitely an issue, and most likely it does come down to the 3ds Design vs 3ds max issue. I can’t find anything saying it can’t be done, but I also can’t find anything saying it can be, so this might come down to an issue of checking with some of our devs who have experience with both.

ok I have used the checkbox and all render nodes are available for this job including nodes that are listed as idle.
Also of note is that we are running in unlicensed mode with only 2 slaves for now while we test and remove issues like this.

thanks for your help.

Hello,

Just to verify that you only have 2 nodes showing in the slaves window? Also, is there any indication in the slave log or slave window that would tell us why the slaves aren’t picking up jobs? Thanks.
