I think you have already heard about this elsewhere, but going to mention it here.
Krakatoa is killing the macrorecorder in max2009 sp1 creativity extension, I get zero information, literally no feedback from the listener. I remove Krakatoa from this version of max and bang, it comes right back.
Sorry don’t know if it worked before the creativity extension sp1 update.
Yes, this was reported and we have zero idea why it happens, since the same code works in 2008 and all we did was recompile the plug-in for 2009.
Luckily for us, we are not using 2009 and we don’t intend to, but we are looking into the problem.
That being said, I have never used the MacroRecorder and encourage everyone to follow my lead. 
copy, copy, not a big deal, since you supply that wonderful little install/uninstall to max version widget, it is pretty painless.
