"maya batch stopped working"

Hi

A render we’ve sent that keeps tripping over on our farm, resulting in the “maya batch stopped working” popup.
some frames with render at 2min and other’s 12hours for example.
Any idea’s what might be causing this?
Here’s the log:

Best,
Connor

Hello,

I looked over our history with this error on line 39, and it looks like the issue is either with the node not being able to open the file, or that if Maya has “Selective preload” on, in the node/workstation, it will immediately fail. Can you verify or rule out either of these? Thanks.

Cheers,

Dwight

Hi Dwight

I sent another job and managed to fix a few of the errors, some of which were down to maya not loading the plugin for some reason.

With regards to “selective preload” settings, see image “import settings.jpg”.

For the “cannot load scene” error, I opened up two of the blades and tried to open the file but failed. this was odd as I managed to open the scene on a few of the work stations with no trouble. I rebuilt the scene importing the references into a clean scene and I can now open the file everywhere, maybe it was just something buggy in the file.

Something else that seems odd is frame lag, for some reason frames have been getting stuck at 0%, trying to render for upto 13 hours when the actual frame times are only a few minutes, even though there are no errors. see “frameLag.jpg” for this. (the images shows a few error. these were due to maya not loading the plugin, which i have solved now)

I have also been getting another error one of the work stations I cant quite work out, see taskReport_02.txt.

Thanks in advance!
Connor

Hello,

I am glad to hear that you worked out the issue with that Maya job.

For the long renders you are seeing, can you locate the deadlineslave log file(help menu in either monitor or slave on the node, then explore log folder) from the time this occurred, and either post the logs here, or email them to support@thinkboxsoftware.com?

For the last issue, it looks like there is an issue with Arnold, as the error reads “Plug-in, “mtoa”, was not found on MAYA_PLUG_IN_PATH.” and tells us that there is an issue finding that value. There were also lots of errors with Arnold, which should clear up once it can load.

Cheers,
