Misreport Ghz

I have two machines that are identical in hardware, except ram. One has the correct CPU speed of 2.5Ghz, but one is shown as 1.2Ghz. Don’t know why or how, if you want me to do any further to help find out why its misreporting, I’d be happy to try.

Deadline 6 Beta 5.

i think I’ve seen this in 5 - essentially we get the cpu reporting from the OS which gets it from the CPU. many procs have low-power modes where they pull back on GHZ when idle to be GREEN, or not under load, or the power setting isn’t set. I’m going to take a guess and suggest that this may be the case. i’m curious what happens if the cpu is at 100% for enough time to update the monitor.

you might also check your power settings to not throttle the cpu when idle…otoh, that would waste power.
